Build Community
|
We will raise awareness, build intersecting Black consciousness, and share local/state/regional/national BLK happenings. We will also amplify voices and needs across the full spectrum of Black representation.
Pool ResourcesWe have all navigated surrounding communities in different ways. We strongly welcome the pooling and sharing of tools, resources and access in what Sonya Renee Taylor coins as 'right relationships.' We rally the simple, yet forgotten principles of collective care. Economic, cultural, and social capital sharing can take on the form of sharing direct monetary donations, assets, extending networks of influence and support, education, skills, etc.
|
We will provide opportunities and spaces for you to exist in your full Blackness. Black Joy Series! We are not in competition, but in constant conversations with diverse black voices in our surrounding communities. We leverage all BLK knowledge as true knowledge regardless of positionality to realize a more full destiny.
Mobilize/Branch
Our hope is to activate Blk community members in many ways as we recognize the wide ranging talents and gifts that already exist. BlkPlattCom is a starting hub for many efforts for system/structural action to naturally branch to achieve lasting/meaningful social justice change. We will support efforts in strategy, organizing, and leveraging diverse Black voices. *We recognize there may be other think tanks emerging and strongly encourage others to leverage Black voices in sincere efforts early as sources of knowledge and authority.

...Unnecessary and unchosen suffering wounds us but need not scar us for life. It does mark us. What we allow the mark of our suffering to become is in our own hands.” - Bell Hooks
